At Jog Lantana Animal Clinic, our policies are designed to support safe patient care, respectful communication, and fair access to appointments. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us provide an organized, welcoming environment for every pet and family.

Respectful Communication and Client Conduct

Veterinary visits can sometimes be stressful, emotional, or frustrating. Our team is committed to communicating respectfully, listening carefully, and making every reasonable effort to address your concerns.

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or intimidating behavior toward our team, clients, or patients. This includes verbal abuse, harassment, threats, physical aggression, and inappropriate conduct in person, by telephone, by text, by email, online, or through social media.

When necessary, Jog Lantana Animal Clinic reserves the right to discontinue a professional relationship and provide information regarding the transfer of medical records after any outstanding balance has been resolved.

Patient Safety and Arrival

For everyone’s safety, dogs must arrive on a secure leash and remain properly controlled in the lobby, examination rooms, and other shared areas. Cats must arrive in a secure, appropriate carrier.

If your pet is coughing, vomiting, experiencing diarrhea, or showing signs of a potentially contagious illness, please call or text us at (561) 964-3144 before entering the clinic. We may ask you to remain with your pet in your vehicle until an examination room is available.

If your cat is uncomfortable with the carrier, place the carrier in a familiar area several days before the visit, leave the door open, and add comfortable bedding, treats, or a favorite toy. Please contact us before the appointment if your pet experiences significant fear or anxiety during transportation or veterinary visits.

Care for Anxious or Reactive Pets

Please tell us when scheduling if your pet has previously shown fear, anxiety, aggression, or difficulty during veterinary care. This information allows our team to prepare appropriately and create a safer, less stressful visit.

Depending on the patient’s individual needs, a muzzle or veterinarian-prescribed pre-visit medication may be recommended or required. These measures are used to protect the patient, the family, and the veterinary team while allowing necessary care to be provided as safely and compassionately as possible.

Appointment and Walk-In Options

Same-day appointments are often available, and scheduled appointments are recommended whenever possible so that we can reserve appropriate time for your pet. Walk-in patients are also welcome and are accepted according to medical urgency, staffing, and appointment availability.

Walk-in patients may experience a longer waiting time. Patients with urgent medical needs may be prioritized regardless of arrival order.

Drop-Off Appointments

Drop-off appointments may be available when appropriate for the patient and the services needed. A scheduled drop-off time is not necessarily the time the veterinarian will examine your pet.

Please remain available by telephone while your pet is at the clinic. After the examination, our team will contact you to discuss the veterinarian’s findings, recommendations, and applicable estimate before proceeding with additional services that require authorization.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Advance notice allows us to offer the appointment to another patient who may need care.

We understand that unexpected circumstances can occur. Please call or text us as soon as possible when you know you will be unable to keep your appointment.

Late Arrivals

Arriving on time helps us provide every patient with the attention reserved for their visit. Clients arriving more than five minutes after their scheduled appointment time may be moved to walk-in status.

We will make every reasonable effort to see your pet, but a wait may be necessary depending on the schedule, staffing, and the medical needs of other patients. In some situations, rescheduling may be recommended.

Missed Appointments

A no-show occurs when a client misses an appointment without providing at least 24 hours’ notice.

After a second missed appointment, future care may be provided on a walk-in basis, subject to availability and waiting time. Clients who prefer to reserve a specific appointment time will be required to prepay the applicable medical visit fee.

The prepaid medical visit fee reserves the appointment time and will be applied to the scheduled visit. Please contact our team if you have questions about the options available for scheduling future care.

Surgical and Dental Procedure Payments

When a surgical or dental procedure is scheduled, our team will provide an estimate based on the recommended treatment plan and the information available before the procedure.

Fifty percent of the estimated total is due on the day of the procedure when the patient arrives for admission. The final total may change if additional findings or medically necessary services are identified. Whenever possible, our team will discuss significant changes with you before proceeding.

Rabies Vaccination Requirements

Jog Lantana Animal Clinic requires patients to remain current on rabies vaccination as appropriate for their age, health, lifestyle, and applicable requirements.

If a sick or injured patient is not current on rabies vaccination, medically necessary care may still be provided. The veterinarian will determine the appropriate timing for vaccination based on the patient’s condition and recovery.

Prescription Refills

Prescription requests require time for review of the patient’s medical record and approval by a veterinarian. Please allow at least 24 hours for prescription and food refill requests.

To prescribe or renew medication safely, your pet must have an active veterinary relationship with Jog Lantana Animal Clinic and may require a current examination, monitoring tests, or follow-up evaluation. Requirements vary depending on the medication and the patient’s medical condition.

Prescription requests may be sent to an outside pharmacy when appropriate. Processing time may vary depending on the pharmacy and the information required to complete the request.

Compassionate End-of-Life Care

End-of-life decisions are deeply personal and can be emotionally difficult. Our veterinary team approaches these conversations with compassion, honesty, and respect for both the patient and the family.

When euthanasia is being considered, the veterinarian will evaluate the patient’s medical condition, comfort, prognosis, quality of life, and available care options. Our goal is to help families make an informed and compassionate decision while preventing unnecessary suffering.

Please contact us if you are concerned about your pet’s comfort or quality of life. Our team can help you understand what your pet may be experiencing and discuss the options that may be appropriate for your family.
