Dr. Miriam Delbene’s love for animals inspired her to pursue veterinary medicine from an early age. She graduated from veterinary school in Esperanza, Argentina, in 1996. After moving to the United States, she worked as a veterinary technician while completing the licensing requirements to practice as a veterinarian, an experience that gave her a lasting appreciation for every role within a veterinary team.
Throughout her 30-year career, Dr. Delbene has worked in private practice, animal welfare, municipal medicine, and emergency and critical care. Her professional experience includes Miramar West Animal Clinic, The Pet Emergency Room, Knowles Animal Clinic, Animal Welfare Society, and Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control. She is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and brings more than 20 years of emergency and critical care experience to the thoughtful management of complex medical cases. She also has extensive experience and a special interest in soft-tissue surgery.
In 2018, Dr. Delbene became the owner of Jog Lantana Animal Clinic, an independently owned neighborhood practice that had already served the Lake Worth community from the same location for more than 30 years. She honored that legacy while modernizing the facility, upgrading its medical and diagnostic equipment, and strengthening the clinic’s protocols and standards of care.
Dr. Delbene believes that excellent veterinary medicine should remain personal. At JLAC, medical recommendations are guided by each patient’s individual needs, communication is direct and honest, and clients are included as partners in their pet’s care. Today, the clinic combines modern veterinary medicine with the familiarity, continuity, and personal attention of a trusted neighborhood practice.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Delbene enjoys dancing, traveling, yoga, meditation, and spending time with her family, friends, and rescue dogs, Midnight and Venancio.
